Ladies and GCG if you were a golf course how many holes would be open for putting?

2 maybe 3. That 3rd one takes a lot of work. I mean A LOT of work! And I'm not sure I'm ever going to be up for that much work.

Golf club captains – hate them !!!?

Hi ! Recently have been called up at the golf club by our lady captain to be given a lecture for walking off the course at a neighbouring club .Now,I know it wasn’t the best thing to do but there’s no rule against it and I have apologised to my playing partner and made sure she can join the group behind us ..This woman has ganged up on me with another lady to give me a lecture in the middle of the golf club lounge with everybody turning their heads to see what’s going on .and the only reason she has done it is because is on a power trip . She thinks she is the centre of the universe now and she can treat people like dirt .At the end of the day we are all members and we pay the same fee , no one is above everyone else .
Any similar experiences ?What should I do ? I was so angry that I didn’t have any reaction at all .

Flatstic, maybe you should have read my question first. It wasn't a match and I wasn't representing the club and no matter what I did, the whole thing has been dealt with wrongly .We all pay the same membership fee and no one is above another .I think the issue I was trying to bring up is the bitchiness and backstabbing going in the ladies golf .I've joined this club 3 years ago and since day one I've been treated like scum .Maybe I should mention that I'm foreign and that's got something to do with it .Actually , when you're spoken down to in a condescending manner like you're some stupid school kid , I would say that it definitely has got something to do with it . But I have to say that I am extremely disappointed by the atmosphere in most of the golf clubs and although I love the game and I will never stop playing ,I feel as I have to constantly watch my back and keep myself to myself .I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience with the ladies at their home club

I play as part of a golf society, Very recently I won our end of season trophy which is played in the honour of another member who died.

I shot 39 points off a 16 handicap. I didn’t actually play that well I just chipped in once and made 2 x 50 foot putts! On any other day those three incidents would not have happened and I would have gone round in level par (For my handicap) and not won.

When I returned to the clubhouse and handed in my card the society captain called me aside. Now we play an event once a month for 6 months of the year (I’m just explaining situation) around 18 months ago I won an event and got cut from 18 to 13, over the following 18 months I have complained that I am in fact around a 16 handicapper and that by playing off 13 I have no chance of winning, eventually the captain relented 3 months ago and put me up to 16.

Low and Behold he started to claim that he knew that I was really a 13 handicapper and that I had deliberately played badly over the last 18 months to get a higher handicap so I could win this event!!!

This argument took place in private, however I was so enraged I basically walked into the main lounge and gavce the following speech

“Guys, its been a pleasure to play golf with you over the last two years, unfortunatly Trevor here is convinced that I have cheated to get my name on the trophy, I therefore am refusing to accept the trophy, I would like the prize money to be awarded to a charity organisation that deals with Cancer, I will also be leaving this society until Trevor either apologises or Leaves. Thank You and Goodnight”

I got a round of applause and basically this trevor was threatened with being kicked out unless he apologised.

Stand up for what you believe in, and if the worst comes to the worst find another club, the one your at doesn’t sound very nice anyway.

Good Luck

What are better beginner’s golf clubs for women: Slazenger Lady Panther, Dunlop DDH Alero or Top Flite XL?

These are the only available beginner’s sets in the Philippines. In any case, I’d just like to know which model or even brand for that matter between the 3 is more reliable. Also consider that the Top Flite XL set does not have a SW.

The Slazengers are very reliable clubs, the Top Flites are about as good as Wal-Mart Brands, plus you need a SW. Dunlops are ok, but go with the Slazengers, they are more forgiving.

Try hitting all three before you buy them.

How tall should you be to use men’s golf clubs?

I’m 5’4″, male and have been using women’s sized golf clubs for a while. I want to get mens clubs but don’t know if they will be too big and affect my game. I know a lot of kids my age and size that use full men’s size clubs. The ladies flex is too flexible and i tend to hit a fade…. Also, any suggestions for relatively cheap iron sets? ($200-$300)

Yes I am 5’8″ which is borderline, for club size. The best I found was to get custom clubs built for me. There are many sites out there that sell generic custom built clubs for you. These clubs are very good for the money. They are really good, they aren’t a pro grade club. But for what you get they are excellent. My game improved better than ever when I got my clubs built. Here are some web sites. Diamond tour golf, pine meadow golf, golf warehouse they have sizing charts to help you determine your ideal clubs. If you are not comfortable with this, you can go to a pro shop and have them size you for clubs….

They are ladies clubs- I got them from Dick's Sporting Goods For $275

Difficult question to answer in this form. Not enough info to answer question. I'm not familiar with that particular brand of golf clubs, though I know they are a name in the golf industry. Not knowing where you purchased the clubs is a question would help for your answer. And, of course, are these women's golf clubs?? So, suggest you go back to your origin of sale, if it was a golf course, or golf store. Really, you should have gotten this information at time of purchase. Best way would be to visit a local golf professional at one of your local golf courses. They can help you find out if these golf clubs fit your daughter or not.
Golf is tough enough to play even with the best fitting clubs.
