My girlfriend has been watching the Solheim Cup and wants to try playing golf. Her birthday is approaching so Im thinking of buying her a set of clubs. Researching online, I learned a little of the differences between regular clubs and ladies clubs, but I am still confused. Everywhere I checked said that ladies clubs are shorter than regular clubs, but I dont think that would help her because she is taller than average (5′ 11"). Are there clubs out there for taller ladies that are reasonably priced? I dont want to spend too much because there is a possibility she might not use them as much.
Ladies clubs are different besides the length. The shaft flex on them are different from men. since is her first set. And you don’t have an idea if she likes to golf. Go to Wal-mart or Target and get her a starter set from Wilson. Is a descent set and is under $200. And if she likes the game later down the road. She can get a good set.The money you save, put it toward lessons. Good Luck

you will be fine with woman’s length. what i would worry about is your shaft. have feeling you are very high swing speed. possibly a senior shaft may help. or possibly mens regular. with low kick point. please do not bother with graphite in your irons. waste of funds. woman’s will fit.
Ever heard of custom made Tru-Flite golf clubs made by Dubow?? I have a set, but can’t find any info on them. They are in great condition, but are vintage I believe. I am looking to find out if they are mens or womens and just for fun would like to know what year they were made and if they are any good or just more junk I brought home from the thrift store.

Wife is just getting into golf. Natural athlete…1st round ever, she shot 114. Looking to get her a set of clubs that she won’t outgrow too soon, but won’t break the bank either. Can y’all recommend a set for us?
Really she needs to try things out to see what she likes. It also depends on her build and strength. Chances are ladies clubs will be fine if she is average size and strength for a lady. However it is also possible she might be better with senior mens, or standard mens clubs if she is pretty athletic and stronger than average.
TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Cleveland and Nike all make pretty nice womens clubs.
My other half plays with Cleveland CG pink and loves them (performance, and the girly colours!), so I can personally recommend those.
Back to my opening statement though, she really needs to try for herself. So treat any answers you get as a starting point to narrow down what to try perhaps, but make shure she tries before you buy.
