I am a 13 year old boy who is 5 Feet tall exactly and i need to get a golf club set?
i am 5 feet tall, and i wont grow enough to use a mens golf club set, for about three years, and im too tall for a junior club set. Should i get a womens set of clubs for 3 years, Then get a mens set? Answers from people with a lot of knowledge in golf would be appreciated!
Your idea of getting women’s clubs sounds good. The junior clubs are not only too short but the shafts will be too soft. Definitely go for used clubs, as these will be temporary at your age. Check out the used clubs at second hand sports stores like Play It Again, and look at your local Salvation Army store, they practically give them away. Remember, as you grow, any shaft can be extended a few inches, and grips are easily replacable and adjusted for thickness. You can learn to do this yourself quite easily.

The chances of you hitting a growth spirt in the next few years is highly likly so I wouldn’t invest too much into a custom now b/c you’ll have to get new one’s soon. Take hand-me down/used one and get them fitted or if you buy nice new one’s get them standard and play them chocked down (like Anthony Kim) then you’ll have room to grow into them.

I’m thirteen and about 5’3. If your a beginner i suggest uskg clubs. They fit people up to 5’5. If you’ve been playing for a while check out some Maxfli’s they’re a good club that will fit you.

You need a junior set. There is not much else you can do apart from getting them fitted, that will cost a fair amount of money.

Being as you’re 5-foot tall you’re in a bit of a quandry — you’re not tall enough to use men’s clubs as they’re designed for someone over 5’6" in height, but realistically on the verge of being too tall for typical kid’s clubs (anyone under 5’0" tall).
My advice would be to look around for some women’s clubs, as the primary difference is in their length (someone between 5’0" and 5’6" tall) and the softer flex of their shafts (for someone not as strong as a man, and without a higher swing speed so as to hit them higher with less effort) – otherwise the weight of the clubheads is the same, and thus when you get taller you can have them re-shafted to stiffer and taller men’s clubs specs for not much money.

Just buy men’s clubs like the way it is, even though your 5 foot tall, you can use them. I’m 5 foot tall, and I use men’s clubs, and it is not custom fit. You will grow out on them, and you will get used to it. It sucks to be short, height does matter. You will be able to control and use men’s clubs without custom fitting it. Actually they say don’t custom fit your clubs unless you will go far with the game. If you need a clubs that are lighter, just buy the men’s complete beginner sets, because they are lighter. You can buy some good sets from Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Sports Authority. Also you can even use men’s clubs without choking down on the club, I never choke down on my clubs, I only choke down on my clubs when I’m hitting a pitch chip shot with my sand wedge, and when I’m putting. As far as getting a putter, try to get the one that is the shortest since they sell putters in diffrent lengths, like get a 30 inch, which I think is the shortest they sell, and choke down on it. You will only have to choke down on your putter, and on your wedge on chip pitch shots. You don’t have to choke down on your other clubs, try it, and you will eventually get used to it.

I’m 14 and not even 5 ft tall. I hit full length r9′s. you just need to choke down. you don’t need them fit or anything. Besides invest in quality clubs, instead of having to buy 2 sets.
