Hi Gill, Great comment and certainly something we will look to cover in November. I think a few things to consider: 1. The ball simply won’t travel as far with the colder/damper air so we need to factor this is when selecting the club. Combine this with wind and we might be hitting 2/3 clubs more than normal. The temptation is to try and swing quicker as we see the ball flight not travelling as far. The best bet is to club accordingly and swing smooth. 2. Because we might be wearing more layers our backswing may become shorter thus losing swing speed, it’s important to keep rotating through the backswing (smooth rhythm is key to this) 3. On shorter shots ie pitches etc keep the weight more left sided (Right handed golfers), this will prioritise a sharper strike on the ball as any slighter heavy shot is magnified in wet conditions. 4. Use the rules- remember if your ball is in a little casual water even slightly damp always take free relief onto a drier part of the course! Lots to go at here and will include in November sessions 👍🏻

Go for a 60 degree Lesley and try a bounce of around 6. The brand isn't absolutely necessary but might be nice to match the iron set :-)

Hi Lesley, Good question. If I had to prioritise either the LW or the 3W I would say the Lob Wedge. The 3 wood will give you a few more yards (but only perhaps really in summer with the extra roll) however the lob wedge could be utilised more often with greater effect- In bunkers with no sand or compact sand, playing over hazards and creating more spin & on tight lies from the fairway (as it should have less bounce than the SW).. Hope that helps!

Hi Karla, Yes of course and happy to help. Without a doubt the clubface will be open (aiming right) at impact which is causing this curvature to the right. Hitting it softly simply reducing the spin on the ball and curvature which will stop it going into the trees but unfortunately you will lose distance too which is isn't ideal either. I would therefore try the following to prevent the ball going right: Make sure the ball is lined up with your left heel at address. Make sure you have ATLEAST two knuckles showing on your grip at set up. Relax your grip pressure particularly in your left hand. These 3 factors should really help you reduce the amount the clubface is open at set up and now hopefully you can enjoy some 'fairway finders'! Hope that helps and give it a go!

Hi Carla, Thanks for the comment & good question. My advice would be to really assess the lie & bunker shot you are faced with first. If some days you are great then others you aren’t it might well be the lie & situation is changing and not necessarily you. Managing the mind is key as you say and especially with the bunkers this is relevant. Really take some time to assess the lie before you play the shot: 1. If there is a healthy amount of sand play the normal technique as I described in the live ie open club face wide stance & ball forward. 2. If the lie is bare or no sand square the face & try to hit the sand approximately 1 inch behind the ball ( ideally use a lob wedge) In both situations commit to the shot & try to always hit the sand first.. Hope that helps and I think overall analyse which technique is needed for the lie and then commit! 👍🏻👍🏻

To measure your swing speed accurately you can visit your local golf facility and ask to use their ‘launch monitor’ to find this out. Most golf facilities will have some device to help measure this. Another way to give you a ballpark figure is to take your average driving distance & divide this by 2.3. For example if you drive the ball on average 175 yards your swing speed would be 76mph. Good morning everyone, During Sunday’s LIVE Lesson I mentioned about some golf ball options & how you may want to consider the type of ball you use based on your swing speed to maximise your performance.
