Hi, I'm Lucy, I'm 38 and have been playing golf for 25 years now.
I started playing because my Dad and my Brother did, and the local golf club in Stafford was a really big part of our family, we went to lots of social functions and generally used the facilities at the golf club for meals and things. My Dad was captain when I was 3 and president the year after I joined as a member.
Over the last 10 years or so life has got in the way and I was playing twice a month at most and never in the winter. Although our club has alternative days for competitions so I could play on a Saturday I was generally begging favours for people to play with me rather than on the normal Wednesday competition day.
Lockdown has changed that massively, I have been playing at least twice a week since we were allowed to, and as I'm working from home I'm playing competitions on a Wednesday and making up the hours on other days. It's done wonders for my golf and I am getting to play with people I never do.
I've also been heavily involved in the organisation of the ladies section of our club for probably 15 years or so. I was captain in 2008 and have been on the M&H committee for most of the time.
