A month in the life of LLG
The month of May started out with the American Golf Show in Manchester. John had been asked to talk about LLG and was on stage being interviewed by non other than Denise Van Outen, who has just taken up the game of golf. She had heard of LLG and was keen to find out more about it. Three LLG members were invited onto the stage to talk to her and the audience about how we had got involved and what we enjoyed about it.
The following day saw 9 LLG members jetting off to Alvor in Portugal for three days of
golf. The days were action packed with coaching in the morning and eighteen holes
of golf in the afternoon. The evenings were spent in the nearby restaurants eating the
local cuisine washed down with a bottle or two of wine. The weather was glorious, the company great and the golf courses were fabulous. There are many memories from the trip but one has got to be when a large sea gull swooped down and went off with Pat’s ball!! Not sure what the rule book says about that one!! It was touch and go whether we made it home as the taxi ordered to collect us didn’t turn up. I don’t think any of us would have minded staying the extra day or two to top up the sun tans!!
The rest of May has seen the regular Ladies sessions at the Hammers. As always these
are always well supported and we have welcomed Iain into the fold as our new pro
along with John and Rory. The sessions continue to be fun as we all strive to hit the
little white ball!!
John has more things planned for the months ahead these include our yearly trip the
The Astbury near Bridgnorth and the Gala Dinner in November.
